Yes - the registration sequencer frames can only be accessed sequentially in the current version. Version 2 will allow them to be divided into eight banks, and you will be able to jump to the start of any bank. Of course, you can still use the standard combination pistons as well.

Just to clarify - with genuine 64-bit processors (e.g. the AMD FX-51) and a 64-bit operating system, there is no practical limit on memory, so you will be able to use sample sets that are much larger than 2 GB if you have the right computer equipment. Hauptwerk version 2 will be needed, and 64-bit ...

In Hauptwerk version 1.xx mixing happens at 32-bit but output is at 16-bit. During the load process, all amplitude level settings are applied to each sample as a 32-bit floating point number, with the result being stored in memory as a 16-bit integer. Hence it doesn't matter which way around the ...

Mr. Tolman - I can't get an email to you

Sorry - I haven't been able to reply to your email. The mail bounces with an error 'Diagnostic-Code: smtp;550 5.7.1 Access denied'. Not sure whether the problem is at my end or yours, but I've had no problems sending mails to other people. If you read this, could you send me a message via the forum ...

I had a look at the link on toggle switches, and I thought it worth noting a few things: - Hauptwerk v2 will be able to provide MIDI output to change the state of physical console switches from its combination system, e.g. for solenoid-actuated drawknobs, tabs or illuminated buttons. Hence you might ...

Yes - you should be able to do that. I'm not sure whether the timing would be quite as accurate as using MIDI, but that's less important for stops and other console switches than for keys. Since each key press would be toggling the state of the corresponding virtual switch, they would need to be ...

Hauptwerk version 2 will allow velocity sensitivity, sample layering, and many of the other features traditionally found in samplers. However, Brett's Steinway comprises about 6 GB of sample data, if I recall correctly, so we decided it wasn't worth making a version of it for Hauptwerk - it would be ...

A continuous controller. You can have any number of stages which are all programmable, and can potentially have different programs in both directions.

Hello Nico, Since I reverted to the older version of the driver (5. ... .27), DMA size 384 samples and Hauptwerk buffer of 6 blocks, I haven't noticed any crackles. Are you certain that it is not due to a damaged lead or poor connection? Another thought: perhaps try it in a different PCI slot. That ...

Mr. Baker - email problem

A message for Mr. Baker - I can't reply to your email at the moment, seemingly due to some disagreement between your email server and mine. I'll try to get that sorted out, but in the meantime, here is the number you needed: 2489477. I'd appreciate it if you could just confirm that you've seen this ...

Peter,

Do you definitely have version 1.22 installed? It was pointed out to me that this could happen with versions prior to that, and I fixed it for version 1.22, or at least I thought I had!

Thanks,
Martin.

There's a table on my enhancements page of all of the features included or to be included: http://www.hauptwerk.co.uk/enhancements.html . I think it's still essentially correct, although I'll review it at some point to make sure that I haven't added any more in passing. All of the things you mention ...

Thanks, Joachim.

I think that 'blacklisted server' errors usually mean that my mail (receiving) server has your SMTP (mail sending) server listed as being a risk for spam. It might be worth contacting your ISP to see if they know anything about it?

Best regards,
Martin.

Chris, Can you try contacting RegSoft (the company I use for payment handling and CD distribution) about the CD? I would certainly have expected it to arrive by now - it normally takes about a week. It sounds like it may have been lost in the post. Their contact page is: http://www.regsoft.com/how ...
