Sheet Music Search help.....

Postby B777Captain » Sat May 04, 2019 6:07 pm

I'm not having much luck finding "Praise the Lord with Drums and Cymbals" by Karg Elert for organ....

Can anyone steer me to a website you've possibly ordered or know about this piece to order from?

I'd appreciate the help!

The work is originally a harmonium solo, from Karg-Elert's Op. 101 ("33 Portraits.") It is #5 from that collection, and the original collection is here:

The original title is "Ein Siegesgesang Israels."

There have been several good transcriptions for solo organ, as opposed to the harmonium original, which while playable on the organ doesn't use the full resources of the organ effectively (as it was never its intention). In my opinion, Dennis Janzer's solo organ transcription is the best:

By a wierd coincidence I was also looking for this as I heard it on Friday at Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery, Glasgow. Organ music complete with “Dippy” the dinosaur - what more can you ask for!
Thanks for the information.
