Console / bits

PostMon Jan 12, 2004 6:24 pm

I am aware of a 2 manual and pedal detached console which will become available shortly.

The church in question is having a new 2 manual drawstop console together with new electric/tronics and thus the old one is available for disposal in about 6 weeks or so.

Whilst the console itself is not overly beautiful, the manual keys are wooden covered and have a pleasant touch. The pedalboard is pretty un-worn and the stop keys and pistons are standard.

The church is not wanting a lot for the console - possibly a few hundred.

I'd have it myself but I've already got a 2 manual drawstop console at home.

Please contact me if you are interested and I'll arrange things from thereon.

The set has received good reviews, but I'm wondering how good it would be with Hauptwerk. Each of the main speakers receives 53W which will get cut to about half from Hauptwerk (I can only set ~50% on my audio output). I would question it's ability to fill a large room loudly. The sub (at 188W) is only an 8", which again I question low notes at high volumes. A good set of speakers though, but I'm waiting for something that roars. ;)
