I just got my new BX8a pair and SBX subwoofer up and sounding.
Wow! What a difference a lot of money can make.
Now I can actually enjoy the Litomysl organ which sounded very harsh with the old $100 setup. And the Shantz 3 manual is much improved too. Haven't tried the St. Anne yet but doubtless it will be just as much improved.
They sound like entirely new organs.
We are happy at last. (We thought we never would be).

New Speakers
Hi Rob,
sounds like the M-Audio speakers are really good. I just looked at the data on the web page though and I am a bit disturbed. The satellites are 8" systems with a frequency range specified as 40Hz to 24kHz, the subwoofer also is an 8" system starting at 33 Hz, so the gain is just 7 Hz! Does the subwoofer really make a lot of difference then?
Regards

Yes the subwoofer makes a difference.
With the gain at a very modest setting it makes a big difference to the 16' feel. It gives it heft and solidity which just isn't there when turned off or at minimum.
There is a 32' on the Shantz and it even sounds down a few notes from middle C on the pedal very nicely. I wouldn't expect it to do much more farther down toward the end but it does add a not bad rumbly effect which is not there if you turn the sub down to minimum.
