Private Message problem

PostMon Sep 12, 2016 2:35 pm

Not sure where to post this, or where to look for answers, but I am having problems with PM's...
For example, I just tried to send a PM and I find that it has not left my Out Box. I also see that two other messages that I thought I had successfully sent are still in my Out Box.
At the same time, some messages have been in my In Box for nearly a month, but I did not respond to them because I did not receive the usual e-mail notification. Could it be that the PM notification system is using a "dead" e-mail address even though I updated my profile some time ago?
As far as I know, I am following the same procedures as I have followed in the past but clearly something isn't working. Any help would be appreciated.

Messages in your Outbox mean the recipient has not read them yet, that's how the forum software works. Once read they will be removed from your Outbox and moved to the Sent box.

I'm not quite sure about the email address, if you can contact us privately and let us know what email address you are using we can check.

To add to Graham's post, I'm not getting email notifications lately either.
I need to notice that I have one by observing the new messages notices
above the line on the Forum.

Heh, I guess I'm not either. I just checked, and there is a new message showing on the forum, I normally don't check here as I use to get the e-mail notifications.

I've also found that a message was waiting (since June) and I don't seem to have received the email notice that I had a PM.

It appears that somehow parts of the notification email system got broken on the forum. I am not sure how since nothing was modified in the code. We'll have to look at updating the forum software version and hope that this fixes it. I will let you know once we've done this although that will probably take a little time.

Thanks Brett, no hurry. At least we know there definitely is a problem.
