Concert

PostMon Apr 17, 2017 1:33 pm

Hello Hauptwerk Colleagues;

On April 30, 2017 @ 4PM, Cameron Herbert and I will be sharing a recital at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Portland OR.

Cameron is Lead Soprano for the Portland Symphonic Choir and also directs the church choir at GLC. I will be accompanying her mostly on piano and doing several solo selections on the organ.

The concert is free and all are welcome.

Will some or any of it be recorded? Esp interested in your church's acoustics with regards to the organ.

Ed.

Just added the date to my calendar. It has been too long for me as well and we will plan to attend.

Hello Hauptwerk Colleagues;

I just couldn't resist sharing a comment one of the attendees made to me after the concert.

She has held Director of Music positions at churches in Colorado and Minnesota in the past and both of them had Schantz pipe organs, so she is no stranger to the real thing.

She asked me what kind of organ we have and after I explained she said, "well, I've never been in this building before so I just figured the pipes were somewhere out of view. I didn't know it wasn't a real pipe organ".
