I'm fortunate to live in Champaign and the Virginia is ten minutes from home. A couple of months ago I took the 8 year old grandson and some other kids to see the Buster Keaton "The General" accompanied by the Wurlitzer. He enjoyed the experience. Kids seem to appreciate seeing movies on the big screen, not the shoe boxes they see movies in. The park district regularly runs great old movies Last month he got to see "Wizard of OZ" and it was great. Then they do sing a longs with the stacks of old glass slides that were left.
