Olivier Latry in Savannah

PostThu Oct 26, 2017 12:33 pm

Have an opportunity to hear Olivier Latry play a re-dedication concert on the organ at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Savannah, GA this Sunday.

The program is advertised as mostly French, so it will be interesting to hear it on this not terribly "french" instrument. https://savannahcathedral.org/cathedral-organ/

For the record, it was spectacular.

A program of Bach, Mendelssohn, Fauré, Dupré, Alain (Jehan), Langlais, and Duruflé. He finished off with a lengthy and impressive improvisation on two short melodies he was handed right before he began.
