Hauptwerk as a vehicle for studying organ improvisation

Postby biwillia » Mon Jun 25, 2018 6:04 pm

Hello all,

A few weeks ago I started a personal project studying organ improvisation, and I have to say that I'm blown away by how useful Hauptwerk is for studying the art of organ improvisation. The various improvisation styles are so dependent on their respective instrument types that it's hard to imagine how past generations did it.

If you want to check out my project, you can listen to my studies here: http://my-music-diary.com

I'm mostly using the Sonus Paradisi sample sets, with a few others thrown in there. Suffice to say, I'm greatly indebted to the makers of this software, as well as to those who produce the many high-quality sample sets available today.

Best,
Ben
