WAV fidelity issues. aka Im a sound dunce.

PostSun Dec 30, 2018 5:20 pm

i run windows 10 with a motu Ultra lite. My practicing sounds FAB, but when I record a wav file and play it through windows media it sounds muffled, the reeds have no zing, and the subwoofer is hardly, if at all, being used. Whazzup ?? Im sure to fix this, the group will need to ask me 10k questions, and I will respond whu??, but I'm sure it is something stupid I'm missing. Thanks for your help.

Have you read through the Hauptwerk User Guide v. 4.2.1 starting at page 132?

Please explain more about your speaker system.

Also try playing back your recordings with the Hauptwerk Player/Recorder rather than Windows Media Player.

Hello Joseph,
I have made exactly the same observation over the last years: The internal recorder of Hauptwerk lowers the treble and boosts the bass. The result is a tired and dull sound. A few days ago I connected my handy recorder to the headphone jack of my soundcard. And I was very excited, the recording sounded exactly as I heard the organ over headphones or loudspeakers :D
Best regards
Thomas
