" After Marie-Claire Alain (1926-2013), André Isoir (1935-2016) and Michel Chapuis (1930-2017), this is the last great French organist of international renown from this great generation that disappears. Jean Guillou, holder of the grandstand of the Saint-Eustache church, in Paris, from 1963 to 2015, died in Paris, Saturday, January 26, the same day as Michel Legrand. He was 88 years old. "

Yes, he was a great organist and pianist, too. I heard him playing a lot of times in St. Eustache, Paris. Some people didn't like when he was improvising because it sounds to them like "terrible noise". But when he played Bach and all the famous composers especially at the Sunday afternoon organ recitals, it was wonderful and everyone was fascinated. And he explained the music to the audience very understandable.

He was also a well-known expert to make the disposition of famous organs in Rome, Spain etc.

Now he has gone with 88 years. What a gerat life for organ music!
