Welcome to our new Support Manager!

PostTue Dec 17, 2019 9:34 pm

We are pleased to announce the latest addition to our staff, you may know him as an avid Hauptwerk user, or a technical support guru or an active promoter of Hauptwerk...François Ratté! He is all of the above!

François just recently joined us and will be heading up our support. In fact he has already been engaging with some of you via email and helping with Hauptwerk V and the new licensing.

He's owned his own Hauptwerk support business http://www.hauptwerkconsultant.com/ since 2008 and has a track record of resolving technical issues and making customers happy. We are thrilled to know that he will continue this while also working with our team directly. We trust and hope that you will be thrilled about this news also!

So please welcome François as he joins us to offer his vast knowledge of Hauptwerk. We are glad he is here to help and look forward to working with him.

Thanks François!

Hello Francois¡ You helped me a lot taking my baby first steps in HW. Are you now more familiar with Macs? Could you control a distant computer to install HWV?
Although you are familiar in this friendly Forum ¡very re-welcome!

Hi, François,

Welcome in supporting us, we need it ;-)

Do you have any idea when the license-migration site is working again?

https://www.hauptwerk.com/prev5licensemigrations/

Since yesterday evening the site is facing difficulties with the following message and we cannot move our existing sampleset licenses from V4 to V5:

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /home/milandig/hauptwerksite.milandigitalaudio.com/index1.php on line 112

Dear all,

Many thanks for the warm welcome and thanks to Brett for allowing me to work with this passionate group of people who makes Hauptwerk a reality for all of us. I'm thrilled to join the Hauptwerk Team.

As Brett wrote, for more than ten years I've been offering Hauptwerk related services (consultation, support, ready to play instruments, sales); my actual clientele (and future one :D ) can rest assured, I will keep offering those services but at the same time will be working with Brett and his team.

Hauptwerk V was just released and just like you, I'm eager to use it at its full potential and hope to be able to help you enjoy this incredible product. We are all learning about HW5 and I'm counting on some of the "power users" to help; there is a lot of new stuff to learn.

Right now I'm mostly hidden behind "support_AT_hauptwerk.com" but will slowly join the forum to free a bit Martin so he can program more "magic" into Hauptwerk.

I'm sure that we will have the opportunity to exchange by emails or in forums... and being French Canadian, I hope you will forgive my "sometimes creative" use of the English language.

François
Best regards
François

I got this two days ago, and it got better yesterday (worked correctly, migrated my license to iLok). I would have been less scared if I had known that one can indeed retry this, i.e., sending the file via the web page, until it works ("Can only do this once!" being the most famous attribute of the menu command), and had known where it had put the file (on the Desktop, on Windows - didn't know what I was looking for) for such use.

Hauptwerk just prompts you with a standard operating system 'save as' window, so you can save the file wherever you like. The default location is on the desktop.

I don't seem to remember the save-as dialog, but I suspect you''re right, and that I was so freaked out by later problems that I had forgotten that it even posed one. Thanks again.

It is working fine! It was down on the 17th. All good now.

Many people are trying to migrate instruments they don't own. This will produce an error.

Thanks!

Hello Brett Milan

I have updated to V5 which is activated, and now trying to get the Bovenkerk-Hinsz working as before.

Order number: HW16556
Order Date: 8/19/2014

When I try via the iLok software it asks for the “Activation Code”. I am not sure where that is.
In the old days I think I had to update the Dongle with the rar file (attached).

Could you help please?

Thanks, John Cardiff
