Dear Jorg,

Exciting news!

Could you inform us about the pieces that will be played? Or at least the first concert in June...? :-))

Dear friends of Hauptwerk

As already announced in advance I want to inform you that my fourth home concert will be on March 21, 2009. The organist of that evening will be Mr. KMD Andreas Meisner from Altenberg.

The programme will be as follows:

Edward Elgar (1857-1934): Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1
Antonín Dvořák (1841-1904): Largo from “Aus der neuen Welt”
Aram Chatschaturjan (1903-1978): Säbeltanz
Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849): Prelude-e-minor
Franz Liszt (1811-1886): Der heilige Franziskus auf den Wogen schreitend
Sergei W. Rachmaninow (1873-1943): Prelude c-sharp-minor
Edvard Grieg (1843-1907): Morgenstimmung from „Peer Gynt Suite No. 1“
Bedřich Smetana (1824-1884): The Moldau

Probably the following sample-sets will be used

- Binns/Haverhill
- D-CC/Aix oder CC-Mutin/Metz oder CC/Caen
- Skinner/Chicago
- Sauer/Dortmund

Announcement will be possible at: joerg[dot]glebe[at]thyssenkrupp[dot]com

Free attendance as usual.

As I expect that the space of room will exceed the capacity, I have to pass the places in strict rotation (first come, first served).

The fifth home concert will be on June 6, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. by Prof. Tomasz Adam Nowak, from Münster.

Greetings from Bochum

hi guys!

lovely thread.. ! and an amazing console and setup it is!

I just wanted to point out one thing.. when using fake pipes as a fasade I'd recommend not to use pipes at the same length.. - Jorgs organ uses 8 large pipes of the same lenght in front of the Genelecs.. - I recon I'd do it a tad more diverse.

Consideration needs, likewise, to be made so the pipes don't rattle (resonate)?

Hello Hauptwerkers,

last weekend I got my new computer from www.sakralorgelwelt.de (Mr. Voitz):

- 2x Intel Xeon CPU 2,5 GHz
- 32 GB RAM
- 4 hard discs with Raid-0

Polyphony > 10.000

Loadingtime reduced: e.g. Vollenhove 17 seconds

Next Saturday it has to stand the test in the organ concert with Andreas Meisner (Altenberg/Germany).

Thanks so much, Joerg, for sharing those experiences. I have shown these videos to friends who are anticipating purchasing a Hauptwerk instrument or adding Hauptwerk to one they have. Very favorably impressed. Short question, are you using the latest 3.30 version and if so, did you notice a difference with your new computer?

Ed

Hello Ed,

yes, I'm using Hauptwerk 3.30.
I think the difference is not so big for my 8core-server with 32GB RAM. I had to put the polyhony from about 10,000 to 5,000.
But everything works fine.

Best regards

Thanks a lot, very nice!

It shows me again that I still have a lot to learn with regard to registrating the wonderful CC Caen!
I'm used to translating the registration for this kind of music to a 18th century organ with 26 stops, so that makes quite a difference :)
