images are broken on hauptwerk.com

PostTue Jun 16, 2020 12:52 pm

Just a heads up to the Hauptwerk team: your image files aren't loading on hauptwerk.com, so the website looks broken. I checked this on multiple computers and browsers so I know the problem is not on my side. The images are showing the "question mark" (link broken) icon.

Best,

The images work on desktop browsers but some have been broken almost since their website was relaunched on tablets and phones. Many have told MDA about this over the last months but they have not to fixed the problems.
(Don’t judge the Hauptwerk software and support by their website - they are excellent.)

Hello AAH,

Thanks for your post, but everything seems fine and I tried it on 3 different computers and 2 browsers. Here are 2 screenshots. Can you point me to the "faulty pages"?

For the record, right after the initial post on this I checked it also. They were in fact broken.

Could have been a brief server issue, or perhaps server access bandwidth issue, or even a transient issue somewhere else in the network. I've seen the same thing happen occasionally on other sites, but it typically resolves fairly quickly.

Just checked the hauptwerk.com page again on a different mobile device. Same problem as noted above. It is the "mast head" image which is missing. I've tried Safari and Chrome.

I also cleared the browser history and cache on the device and tired again - same problem.

I accessed the site using Chrome on my Windows PC and looked at the site using the developer tools. I changed device type (to a phone/tablet) and the page appear in its complete form. Very strange.

Is it anything to with using "webp" files? (and that you can't "save the image" from pages on the web site?)

I'm using an iPhone 8 plus (ios 13.4.1) or one of two iPad airs.. We have good broadband connectivity (>50mbps) and reasonably low low latency (22ms Ping test) .

Good morning,

I've reported the problems affecting some users, and also a problem affecting other users when trying to playback demos from Milandigitalaudio.com.

I suspect some DNS problems, DNS wrongly configured or DNS information not propagating worldwide.

OK, I tried again using the debugging option in Firefox and you can get strange displays if you happen to pick a screen resolution it does not like.

For instance sizes with a width of less than 776 (x 740) are OK.
Sizes between 784-1027 (x 740) miss some data.
Then sizes over 1028 (x 740) are OK again.

I, too, have had problems with the main HW site not loading pics for several weeks if not months now. I've also written to them to say that I can no longer play any of the audio files on the Milandigitalaudio.com site over the past few months. I keep getting told that they are upgrading the system and that's "probably" the reason. I used to be able to play them just fine but it stopped working for me in early 2020, trying various browsers and computers. Strange.
