Installation file problem

I just downloaded HW 8 for mac. I’m getting a pop up saying that the installation file can’t be opened because Apple can’t check it for malicious software; it says that this software needs to be updated. How should I go about solving this?

right click on the icon, then select open. That is how you by pass it on the Mac.

Thanks; I got it installed . Now I have another problem. I put the new redemption code in iLok. But when the HW 8 activation screen pops up, it tells me that the code redemption limit has been reached, and that I should enter a different code. Not sure what to do.

Good afternoon,

You must surrender your Hauptwerk 7 license.

Please do the following steps:

- Start iLOK Manager
- Sign-in
- Right-click the Hauptwerk 7 license and select deactivate
- Right-click the Hauptwerk 8 license and select ACTIVATE and follow the instruction to surrender the Hauptwerk 7 license

You should now be able to run Hauptwerk8

I’ve been through same issues. When first mentioned Hauptwerk was not a recognized software, I just re-launched the process and it worked. As for iLok, I had redeemed already the licenses and got the issue still. I double clicked on the license in iLok license manager, and it worked.funny to face the same issues and solve them in a slightly different way!
