Salisbury, Missing Note?

PostThu Oct 05, 2023 7:07 am

I built a Hauptwerk system over a decade ago (ver 5). It's worked beautifully / reliably for years.
Is 'low C' missing in the 16' Open Diapason rank (Salisbury) or do I have some other issue at play? All other samples appear to work fine.
(I'm not the organist....).

Hello dwatson3,

I've just checked, and all of the 16' diapasons on the Salisbury have non-silent bottom C notes.

Check that MIDI is being received from your bottom C key, and look at the audio level meter on the "Audio, MIDI and Performance" control panel when playing it to verify that audio is being played from the virtual pipe (you might need to turn up the level trim to see it more clearly). Also check your audio routing if needed.
Best regards, Martin.

Thanks Martin ...... I'll start first with a midi signal check.

In a quiet sanctuary, I could hear the 16' diapason but at an extremely low level. I don't think audio routing is unique for that note but will follow through using the "Audio, MIDI and Performance" control panel. Midi seems fully operational. What is strange is that it applies only to one note with one voice. Choose a different stop and 'all is well'. I'll check these out over the weekend.

Thanks. If it's quiet you could turn it up via the rank voicing screen.
Best regards, Martin.
