What is MSVCP140.dll?

Hello everyone!

I just bought, downloaded, and installed the recent v.8. When I went to open it, I got a message that it could not be opened because "MSVCP140.dll" is missing from my computer.

What is this? I currently have Windows 8 installed, but am in the process of installing Windows 10.

Hello Marc,

It's a Microsoft component that's installed and needed by some software, e.g. iLok License Manager. If you haven't already done so, please try downloading and installing the latest version of iLok License Manager ( https://www.ilok.com/ ). Does that solve it?

If the file MSVCP140.dll already exists in C:\Windows\System32, then this DLL can be re-registered with
REGSVR32 C:\Windows\System32\MSVCP140.dll
To do this, open a console with admin rights.
