question about the Pistons of The St. Anne's Moseley

Postby Leendert on Tue Sep 25, 2007 4:09 am

Hello everybody, i'm a new user of Hauptwerk, and i have some questions. I play the organ on my Yamaha electone HS-8. This organ doesn't have own registers for playing organ, so i can only use the 16 combination buttons ( midi channel 16 ) who are placed between the two rows of keys. My question is how its possible to kept the changes you make to the 5 pistons for the swell and the 5 pistons for the great so i can all the time use them and not have to program then every time i restart the organ.
the following questions are, how can i activate the swell pedal of my organ in hauptwerk. He send the messages also on midi channel 16 ( is that a problem) Do i have to fill in some information in hauptwerk what i can read is Midi-ox ?
Als the last one for this moment, how can i disable the organs wind noise in Hauptwerk.
Thanks for your help.....
Greetings, Leendert

Hello Leendert,

My question is how its possible to kept the changes you make to the 5 pistons for the swell and the 5 pistons for the great so i can all the time use them and not have to program then every time i restart the organ.

With St. Anne's loaded you need to:

1. Set the combinations as you want them.

2 Select 'Combinations | Save current combinations and set as a stand-by combination file | Save current combinations and set as stand-by combination file 1' on the menu.

3. Select 'Organ settings | General options' from the menu. Set 'Combination set start-up mode' to 'Load first stand-by combination set'.

Then whenever you load St. Anne's Hauptwerk will automatically load your combinations.

how can i activate the swell pedal of my organ in hauptwerk. He send the messages also on midi channel 16 ( is that a problem) Do i have to fill in some information in hauptwerk what i can read is Midi-ox ?

There are some step-by-step instructions on how to configure the swell pedal towards the end of the 'Quick start: stand-alone' section in the user guide here:

Als the last one for this moment, how can i disable the organs wind noise in Hauptwerk.

You just need to load St. Anne's once using 'Organ | Load organ, adjusting rank audio output routing', highlight the entry named 'Noises: Blower' in the left-hand browse list, then change its 'Audio enabled' setting on the right-hand pane to 'No'.

In the Concert Edition of Hauptwerk you can also use 'Organ settings | Pipe and rank voicing' to adjust the amplitude or sound of the blower or any other pipe or noise.

Best regards,
Martin.

Hello Leendert,

From your MIDI-OX output you need to:

1. Go to 'General settings | MIDI input paths'. Make sure there is an entry for the MIDI port to which the organ is connected, and with its MIDI channel set to 16. If not, insert one with those parameters.

2. Go to 'General settings | Continuous control MIDI inputs'. Locate and highlight the entry in the left-hand browse list named 'Swells: div 3 (Swell)'. In the right-hand pane, for its 'Input path' setting select the entry you chose or inserted in step 1 (i.e. the one with the correct MIDI port and MIDI channel 16 selected). For its 'Controller number' setting, enter 11, which is the controller number that MIDI-OX shows your pedal is transmitting.

Best regards,
Martin.
