Built-in MIDI Sequencer?

It's hard to find a simple MIDI Sequencer for MAC, a program with just MIDI no audio, to play recorded MIDI files on HW. There are some programs but they are audio editing programs in the first place and this make them complicated and big. A long time ago there was this very nice and uncomplicated little program called "Music Shop" from Opcode. But then there was no Hauptwerk...

Yes - we do already have basic MIDI record/play-back functionality within Hauptwerk logged as an enhancement request.

I have Logic Pro as a sequencer for the Mac, but Apple also make a cut-down version: Logic Express:

I haven't tried that, but perhaps that's worth having a look at, if you haven't already done so. It has audio sequencing capability, but you could just ignore that.
