News from Prospectum?

Postby petros » Wed Jun 17, 2009 11:39 pm

Hello, all,

I'm wondering whether there have been any newsletter updates from Prospectum, especially in regard to the Magnuskerk Anloo project. I have just subscribed to their newsletter in the past few days, but was hoping to hear from anyone who might have been on that newsletter list for a year or more. It appears that things have gone rather silent on this particular Forum topic, just over a year ago. Have I missed something in other Forum posts?

Thanks very much,
Peter

Hello, again,

I did receive a return e-mail from Gernot this morning, and it sounds like things are proceeding well . . . . good news!

According to the dutch forum http://www.klavarorganist.nl/modules.ph ... 0972#10972
there are at least a few people playing with the beta version of the Anloo sampleset now.

On the Prospectum website, the organ has now been moved to the category "Masterpieces".

There are photos, screen shots, and information of what you will get with the sample set.

I wonder whether you can virtually open the Brustwerk doors and get a it to sound a little louder?

Whether you like this type of organ (it's virtually almost a Schnitger) and these dry acoustics of this small church or not, I have to comment that the sound demos seem very realistic.

Let's just wait and see what the asking price is as this is is apparently a non-for-profit volunteer project, which is highly commendable and amazing in and of itself. In that sense we can't complain that it took so long to get it out.

Experiments with IR - http://zionorgan.com/vb/mp3/swe_mjl_anl_30.mp3

I suppose a 3- or 4-stage swell pedal with appropriate clacks and squeaks would approximate that effect, assuming the Borstpositiff were a little louder.

This really sounds wonderful, just what the Anloo set needs in terms of acoustics, the topping of the cake. James, can you tell us how you did this, i.e. how did you load the impulse response? I guess additional software is needed? Do you know if the next version of Hauptwerk will natively support loading the Anloo IR?

This post covers our plans for future support for impulse response (IR) convolution within Hauptwerk:

http://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5573

With the current version of Hauptwerk you need to use a third-party VST (Windows) or Audio Unit (OS X) host application and convolver.
Best regards,
Martin.

Reverberation was added after recording by using N-Track v. 4.0.3 with SIR plugin, then converted with GoldWave v. 4.11 to 192 kbps MP3 format. St. Nicolaes Church (from 30ft. to 130 ft.) seems to be part of Voxengo IM Pack 3 - http://www.voxengo.com/impulses/
