I purchased and downloaded the Salisbury Willis last week. It is magnificent. This is the first organ I have used with Hauptwerk where I did not feel there is any need for reverb.
The downloads took about 15 minutes for each of the three DVD's (high speed internet connection). I had a problem of my own doing when attempting installation. My computer setup saves large downloads as ZIP files. And these files do un-zip. But when trying to install, the files did not show up as they had a ".zip" extension instead of a ".rar" extension. Simply changing the extension was all that needed to be done. The initial installation took about an hour overall, even with a Quad Core 8600 processor and 8GB RAM - these are big files!
The dongle upgrade came quickly from Brett. The initial load of the organ took about 20 minutes but now is down to about 30 seconds. Memory used is 3,997,392 bytes.
I use MIDI sequncing software and recorded Bach (Prelude in Eb Major), Franck (Chorale #1), Mozart (Fantasia K608), and "Praise My Soul, the King of Heaven" from the 1982 Epixcopal Hymnal. The sound is beyond expectations. From the middle section of the Mozart with a single stop for each of the three voices to a very clear rendition of the Bach Eb with almost full organ (including 32 and manual 16s) the sound is balanced and clear. The Willis scaling and voicing is magic. And the samples capture it all.
Great job Milan Audio! Can't wait for volume 2 (and 3).......coming soon?
