64 bit MIDI Loopback??

PostSat Jul 02, 2005 8:15 pm

Are there any midi loopback utilities that work with XP 64??

I have tried all of the ones listed on the main Hauptwerk site, and none of them work, since they are all basically just drivers, and they aren't done to work with x64....

Any help would be appreciated,

Julian

"midi loopback utilities" ???

I have no idea what those might be.

I am using 64-bit essentially nil at this time. No use.
Am just waiting for Martin's release of HW2, with
which he hopes to have the 64-bit version also
on release day. Might as well, he is just sitting
and twirling his thumbs while the patent issees
unravel. In the meantime, he can be porting what
he has to X-64.

Why am I not using XP-64 actually: I cannnot break through
the 2GB RAM limit to load/play larger organ sample sets. Evidently
a combination of problems, but am no longer bothering to
fight them. I can load the large organs, but my sound card
won't play them; or, they won't load at all. Just not able to
get a mix of applications at 32 bit to operate with others with
64-bit drivers in X64/

I'll bring this up again now, it wasn't understood the first time....

When I refer to a "Midi Loopback Device" I am referring to the programs that you can download that allows you to use most any software midi sequencer such as Cakewalk or Finale to send Midi messages to Hauptwerk. The program acts as a virtual midi cable, taking whatever the midi sequencer is sending out, and channeling it to Hauptwerk... Some of those programs were "Hubi's Midi Loopback" and "Maple Virtual Midi Cable", perhaps those will jog people's memories...

Now, the thing of it is, they all use a driver of some sort, and the problem that I am coming up with is that XP 64 bit does not allow the use of any 32 bit drivers at all. So.....

Does anybody know of a 64 bit version of these MIDI loopback programs in existance now?? Or any that are currently being produced??

If you could comment on this further, I would appreciate it,

Thanks,

Julian
