Organ Merklin- Schütze

PostFri Jan 13, 2012 6:03 am

I link below the concert that I made in december 2th last year.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VN6eF2f6fc

The instrument was made in 1856 by Joseph Merklin and his associate Schütze from Brussels , it has four manuals and 63 stops and has been recently restored by Jean Daldosso from Toulouse (Francia). The sound is great, but it is quite uncomfortable to play.
Unfortunately the recording does not show the might of sound of this instrument.
Interestingly blends Hispanic organ tradition, horizontal external pipes (en batalla), with the trends of that time.

Perhaps someone could be interesting in exchange organ concerts. Please contact to mjtorregrosa@gmail.com
