Control of Stop/Manual/Tremulant Noise Effects

PostTue Mar 13, 2012 11:31 am

Hi,

Is it possible in the CODM to create a Stop that turns the <PercussiveEngagingKeyActionNoise and <PercussiveEngagingSoundEffect On and Off?

Kind regards,

Hello Graham,

Sorry - no - there's no functionality for that in the CODM.

However, the user can just disable the action noise(s) rank(s) if desired ('Organ | Load organ, adjusting rank audio/memory options/routing').
Best regards, Martin.

Hi Graham,

I think I've done exactly what you want on several of my CODM organs. I Want to be able to easily turn tracker noise on and off.
The trick is to put the tracker noise on unique divisions and then couple them to the pipe divisions with a unique control.
These screen prints should illustrate the technique:

The noise divisions have the tracker noise added in the standard way but don't have any pipes.

I hope you can see enough detail on the coupler image. I wanted to show the settings that overide the default divisions and couple all the couplers to a single coupler and it's control.
When coupler 10000 is engaged with it's "TRACKERS" control, all the other couplers are also engaged and tracker noise is then present on all the pipe keyboards.

Thanks, Al.

Yes - that should indeed work for key action noises, but there's no way for a user to enable/disable stop-action noises in real-time.

Al,

What program do you have running for your screen pictures? Is that an editor too?

Yes, it's XML Marker. I'd be lost without it. Highly recommended and Free!
For real heavy duty editing and mass modifications to files, I use Ultraedit, also highly recommended.
