Creating a Zimblestern or Glockenstern Stop

PostMon Jun 03, 2013 1:01 am

Among the to-do list items is to create a stop that is characterized by it engaging without key or pedal board action. I suppose that one way to fudge this is to create a phantom keyboard with one stop permanently assigned and drawn. The actual drawknob action then is really depressing a phantom key, and this action is held until the drawknob is pushed in.

Any inputs on how to implement this function cleanly?

There's native support for that in the Hauptwerk v4 CODM. Have a look at the

SustainingSoundEffect_RankID
SustainingSoundEffect_MIDINoteNumber

... attributes on the Stop, Coupler and Tremulant tables (page 51 in the v4.0.0. guide) and the 'Action noises, blower noise and sound effects' section (pages 18-19).
Best regards, Martin.

Thanks for the guidance. I have Rank and Stop table entries installed according to CODM pages 18 and 51. I believe that the sustaining entries of Rank and MIDI note number totally make the connection between stop and rank. Therefore, I will not need a STOPRANK table entry, page 77. Keys are totally bypassed.
