Error code 4775

PostMon Oct 26, 2009 11:59 am

I believe I have finally cracked it!
Reading the CODM User Guide several times, studying the Example Custom Organs, using XML Marker and then opening and editing CODM files with MS Word (which isn't one of the options given in the User Guide, but actually works very well), it is finally making sense, and I have managed to create an extended "South Suffolk Organ" using Lavender Audio material.

Now I'm trying to combine ranks from Brett's Silbermann and Schnitger sets, using this data:
<InstallationPackageID>110</InstallationPackageID><Name>ArpSchnitger-Cappel</Name>
<InstallationPackageID>121</InstallationPackageID><Name>StGeorgenkirche_Silbermann</Name>
<InstallationPackageID>122</InstallationPackageID><Name>StMarienkirche_Silbermann</Name>
<PackageSupplierID>1</PackageSupplierID><SupplierName>Milan Digital Audio</SupplierName>

and I'm getting this error message:
"Organ installation package….contains information which conflicts with the organ file: the manufacturer ID in the package definition file does not correspond with that given for the package in the list of required installation packages in the organ definition file. Please contact the supplier of the organ file or installation package…"

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Douglas.

Hello Douglas,

If you look in the installation package files for our sets you will see our ID is 2. ID 1 was for Crumhorn Labs and is only found within the St. Anne's files. So, changing the 1 to a 2 should fix it for you.

Thanks, Brett. That seems to have worked, but now it's telling me
"The organ requires a more recent version of Organ Installation Package ID 110..."

Check the actual Schnitger installationpackage file, it should be set to:

<PackageVersion>1.00</PackageVersion>

If you copied this field from St. Anne's for example it has a higher version number than the Schnitger. Just set it to 1.00 and it should be OK. Each setting must be specific to the organ you are referencing, thus always check the actual file included with each organ.

That works. Thanks, Brett.

FYI, although I can edit custom ODFs (I get the option to "Open with...") I can't open ODFs from "HW Sample Sets & Compenents" ("Windows cannot open the file..."). If I try it with a text editor or XML Marker I get gibberish.

Thanks again for your help.
Best wishes,
Douglas.

You can disable auto-compacting of organ definition files to view the full format. By default the files are compacted for faster loading times and for smaller file sizes.

To clarify my previous post:
Within "HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents/OrganDefinitions" I find a mix of XML Documents and HBX Files.
I can open and edit the XML docs (with XML Marker, XML Notepad, MS Word, etc) but not the HBX files (which includes all MDA and OAM samplesets). It makes no difference whether auto-compacting of ODFs is enabled or disabled. Did I miss something else obvious?

Hello Douglas,

.hbx files are encrypted, i.e. don't allow user editing.
Best regards, Martin.

Ah, OK. Understood.
So some dongle-protected sets (e.g. Lavender Audio) are editable and others aren't.
Thanks, Martin.
