bells config

PostFri Jul 23, 2010 10:16 am

Hello

I recently download samples of bells from Leo Christopherson's web page: http://www.leochristopherson.com/Casavant_Freres_Organ.htm but I can´t load this samples. Has any one that use this samples? I tried put YES in IsPercussive on Rank definition but don't work.

Thank you

Hello Javiersan,

I've just had a very brief look at one of Leo's bells RAR files, and at first glance it appears that they have filenames and WAV formats that should be compatible with the CODM.

Hence you probably just need to create your own installation package folder (use the 800000-899999 'user' range for the package ID), e.g.:

[Hauptwerk installation folder]\HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents\OrganInstallationPackages\800000

Then create a package definition file in, using the same ID (use a package definition file from another package as an example), e.g. named:

[Hauptwerk installation folder]\HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents\OrganInstallationPackages\800000\PackageID800000.InstallationPackageDefinition.Hauptwerk.xml

Then put your (extracted) bells samples in sub-folder within that package folder,e.g.:

[Hauptwerk installation folder]\HauptwerkSampleSetsAndComponents\OrganInstallationPackages\800000\WarmBells4

... and reference them there in your CODM ODF.

Hope that helps.
Best regards, Martin.

Well after trying several possibilities, I change the name of each file and this solve the problem. Now I have bells for christmas.

Filenames are 01-C1.wav I erase the octave number, then 01-C.wav or to standard 036-C.wav

I don't know why but they work very well so.

01-C1 was the naming scheme for Hauptwerk v 1 instrument files. Hauptwerk 2 and beyond (and especially the CODM) use the naming scheme of 036-C, 037-C# etc.
