There is a reason why engineers at Allen and Rodgers and other console builders selected large power supplies.
Regarding a cresc ped, except for a few special occasions, I haven't heard or seen many organists use it. Even C/C doesn't even during a live performance I once
experienced or on Youtube "events. If it were needed, couldn't a person just route the cresc ped output to operate "virtually" rather than have all those stops or drawknobs "clack" away physically?
At the request of 2 of our church organists, I converted the cresc ped to operate as a master volume. Not sure I go with that idea completely, but bowing to their wishes wasthe easy out. BTW, I removed the 1/2" spacer under the cresc ped so it is even with the other expression pedals.
Wouldn't it be efficient to use several smaller power supplies (with some reasonably large capacitors on the output) vs 1 large p/s for SAMs power? I ask because I'm using lighted draw knobs vs SAMs on my classical instrument. The Rodgers 340 T/O uses the original Rodgers circuits and power supplies.
