Olimex A20: pipe organ DIY mainboard

PostSat May 14, 2016 2:12 pm

Olimex's A20-OLinuXino-MICRO is a low-cost, open source, single-board Android/Linux computer in a compact form. It enables code development of applications running the A20 microcontroller, the ARM Cortex-A7 dual-core processor manufactured by Allwinner Technology. The strong points of the boards are the processor speed, the small form factor and the low price-to-productivity ratio. They are ready to use, easy to setup and are suitable for embedded programming enthusiasts, Linux hobbyists, gadget fans and also professionals, since its low cost makes it very good solution for application orientated embedded systems.

Soon my free software will be available to use this platform as a MIDI controller. Up to four keyboards (with velocity) and a pedalboard via GPIO (3.3V). Unlimited USB MIDI devices with USB hubs. Main MIDI communication via Ethernet, USB "master" or USB "slave" (act in the USB "device" (slave) role on USB OTG port with a very high performance MIDI!) and many other things...

GPIO is very fast (about 10 MHz) with low-level programming, and there are over 100 pins for digital only I/O! This platform is very useful to create any custom project at a very low price for any fan of this forum.

Good luck with your project
