Fatar Keyboard Disaster!

PostFri Aug 26, 2016 6:00 am

Hi,

Anyone know where I can get some new keys for my Fatar (CMK) TP/60LF in the UK, please?

I have managed to crunch the top three so am looking for an A, B and top C.

I sent requests to a couple of web-sites but have received no replies.

Thanks,
Richard

Richard, do you suppose in the mean time you could cover those top notes and tell folks it's a "historic" 56 note keyboard? :D

Please contact a Keyboard, (Present Day) Repair center.
Most of them carry a supply of Keys, that should fit your keyboard !

(Type of place that repairs Musicians equipment,
re/ Amp's, Keyboards, Speakers, etc.)

Best wishes, (The shop that I worked for, had many different keys (not wood) in stock years ago,
If you contact me directly, I will get you in contact with them, Mel

Richard, I DO see them for this model available sometimes on eBay.

I've got all the Fatars I need now so haven't looked in a while. When I was looking for my 4th fatar for the stack, keys were available quite often...

Good luck,
Mark

No TP/60LF keys are metal and plastic combination with molded bosses at the right location to activate bubble contacts and tracker touch bubbles. I was just looking at one yesterday to see if I could repair it.

Last I heard Classic Midi Works had a few spare keys.
Analog Haven is a Doepfer dealer in the USA and they had spare keys at one time.
Doepfer is a big German distributor of Fatar and might be able to get parts.

UNITED KINGDOM - Lewis Sharp Electronics, Unit 3, Wyrefields, Poulton Ind Est, Poulton, Lancashire (07941028180) repairs Fatar based synths. Dont know about TP/60LF though.

Hi Richard,

A couple of years ago we had a website trackertouch.co.uk for selling Fatar keyboards, but after a while decided it wasn't worth the hassle of selling something for such a tiny market sourced from a dreadfully incompetent crew of Italians. We do, however, have more spare keys than we could ever want sitting in storage because Fatar would routinely send us keyboards with the wrong keys and then send us the right keys to fit to the keyboards. I'll have a look and see if we have these keys with the LF profile.

Richard,

I have plenty Bs and As, but the only upper C I have is in L profile, which might still be better than a smashed key.

If you can send me a private message with your address I will be happy to post them to you along with a few spares in case you feel like smashing any more.

Regards,

Just wondering if it would be possible to use an 'F' for the 'C' and fill the missing bit, assuming Philip has one?

Apologies.

I have no idea what happened to the previous attempt.

I think I am turning into one of those old fuddy-duddies that is not very good with computers.
Which is quite worrying really because that is all I have ever done.

Regards,
Richard
