Plans for a nice organ console table

PostMon Apr 02, 2018 1:34 pm

I have a beautiful keyboard enclosure made of walnut that a gentleman in Maine made for me about 6 years ago, which I have Sitting on an IKEA table, and now would like to possibly get a local artisan, or the same carpenter in Maine, to build a walnut console table to match. Does anyone have actual plans/specs for a console table?

Console dimensions should be based off of standards (such as AGO). Since you are looking for a console table I assume you already have the pedalboard. Your pedalboard is a good place to start for console height/width, bench height/width and spacing from knee board to bottom manual. Pedalboard and expression shoe dimensions will also set the proper spacing, width, depth, and height for the shoe box.
Your local artisan/carpenter should be able to handle the rest.

This isn't a console table, but esteemed forum member Kenneth Spencer published a book on Hauptwerk which includes a chapter dedicated with instructions and measurements on how to build this VPO console seen here and on a Youtube video:
