Hoffrichter pedalboard stiffness

PostWed Mar 18, 2020 9:15 am

I am finding the Hoffrichter pedalboard quite soft. Most of the organs I play outside home are much stiffer and I really have to concentrate to create enough force. The majority are Nicholson. The spring plate is behind the heal. Is it possible to change this. Has anybody else tried.

Remove the heel-board to expose the screws that fasten the pedals/spring plates to the pedal-board frame. Tighten the screws.
If they are already as tight as they will go, slacken them off and insert some kind of packing (e.g. strips of thin felt, or strips of vinyl floor tile, or veneer edging strip) to increase the height of the “ridge” in front of the screws, then re-tighten the screws to get the degree of resistance that you want.

Thanks for that. I will try it in due course.
