Need piston installation help please

That BBS-1K (and the controller) is what I would need. I am confused about one thing though - the piston is a momentary switch and a key press on a keyboard transmits both on and off. When used with pistons does this board see the piston press as on/off? Or is it still momentary?

The board will send Note-on./Note-off when you press/release the switch, but Hauptwerk's auto-detect function will ensure that it is regarded as a thumb piston.

Right on, Graham. HW translates the incoming info between a keyboard and a piston contact closure.

You can split those inputs on the Midi Hardware scanners to do different functions. For instance, part of the input connections can be on one MIDI channel and the rest on another if that is needed. Quite flexible and the boards are very small.

Available are ribbon cable "tails" with an IDE 16 pin connector on one end in case you don't want to make them up yourself.

Myself, I make up my own and prefer to use multi-colored "rainbow" ribbon cable. Using a small vise to assemble the connectors to the ribbon cable.
