Launchpad II mounting

PostSat Jun 04, 2022 8:51 am

I'm wondering whether anyone has found a suitable clamp type of mount for the Launchpad II. Either with a 3/8 female thread to mount on a mic stand or a side-clamp.

There are many tablet-style mounts out there, but without trying one, it's not practical to know whether they will stand up to the pressure of using the Launchpad.

I don't want to rest this on a platform but rather to have it securely held.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I came up with this a while back…

I have considered making a VESA mount version to hold them upright, in a more ‘stop jamb’ orientation. Message me directly through my website and let’s see what we can come up with - if you’re interested. I do not check this message board daily, so if you reply to me here, that’s great, but beware that I may not see it for quite some time, or ever.

It's possible to dismantle a Launchpad II (several videos on YouTube about how to do this). Then it's possible to drill holes and put screws through the back panel from the inside, then reassemble. This will allow for the back panel to be attached to something else. I did this so I could attach mine to standard monitor mounts, then I used standard monitor-mounting hardware to support them.

For mine I simply used heavy duty Velcro to mount to a 3/8" board, whose dimensions are slightly shorter than the L/P. This gives you options for mounting now that you have a solid wood piece to screw into. For a VESA mount, just use wood screws. The Velcro is nice in case you want to swap out this back board or make other changes.
