Windows 10 "Lean"

PostThu May 17, 2018 12:53 pm

Apparently this is going to be a cut-down version and about 2GB lighter - possibly aimed at tablets etc.
Notwithstanding the latter point, could this stripped-down version be useful for Hauptwerkians?
Martin / Brett - Any more information available yet about this?

Hello Douglas,

Any more information available yet about this?

No, we've not had a chance to look at this as of yet.

Hi Douglas,

Windows 10 lean looks like it targets tablets with a TOTAL of 16GB storage not just 16GB RAM and 500GB of SSD but who really knows what they are up to.

If your computer works with Hauptwerk, why upgrade the O/S anyway?

Cheers,

Thomas

Hi Thomas,
I'm not "upgrading". I'm looking to future builds for my customers.
We normally do a Windows "strip-down" as per http://www.blackviper.com/, but if Microsoft can do that for me, why wouldn't I be interested? :D

In that case look at Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB which can be updated at longer intervals than the consumer versions. Also I didn't mean to be rude but I just feel strongly about "If it's not broke, don't fix it!" philosophy.

Also please don't forget to call if you are in the neighborhood again :)

Best regards,

Thomas
