Multi-touch in Windows 10

PostTue Nov 03, 2020 2:23 pm

Hello!
I have a Dell P2418HT touchscreen that works very well. The only problem is that when I want to activate multiple stops I have to click on them all, one at a time.
Is there is a way to use multi-touch to activate multiple stops simultaneously (e.g. with three fingers)?

Hello obj,

Hauptwerk doesn't have dedicated support for multi-touch hardware -- it responds simply to 'mouse click' events from the operating system, which touch-screen drivers send for individual/single touches. Maybe there's some option in your touch-screen driver's control panel to get it to send multi-touch events as a string of single-touch (mouse-click) events, but I don't know.
Best regards, Martin.

Thank you for your explanation!
I haven't yet found a way to send multi-touch events as a string of mouse-click events, but it works well with single-touch so it's not a big problem.

Good morning Obj,

Maybe not exactly what you're looking for but Autohotkey (https://www.autohotkey.com/ may be a solution. You can program keys to trigger complex interaction.

Many years ago I had a script for Hauptwerk where it would switch my Surround configuration to Non surround by clicking "General settings" - "Audio outputs" then selecting an audio channel, set the channels to none, then select another channel and assigned the needed channels, then closing the windows.

All of that was done by pressing a single key on my computer keyboard. So you may want to use some "letters" to trigger multiple mouse clicks on screen.

Have a look, you may be able to do something with this little program.
Best regards
François

Thank you!
That looks interesting (for other tasks too), I will have a look at it!
