Any indications about compatibility issues with HW5 on macos 11 / big sur? At some stage an upgrade will be inevitable.

Good morning

See - https://forum.hauptwerk.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=19157

To resume - One of our users who's also an Apple beta tester for macOS 11 reported that in most aspects Hauptwerk v5 worked on it as well as it does on macOS 10.15, except for a couple of issues, one of which was trivial, and the other of which was simply a bug in the macOS 11 beta version which he kindly reported to Apple, so hopefully they will have fixed it for the final release (otherwise for a macOS 11.x patch soon afterwards) -- we will have to see.

As for any major new operating system version, our recommendation would be *not* to upgrade any important Hauptwerk computers to macOS 11 when it's initially released, and to wait until we can post an official statement about compatibility with the final macOS 11 version, and ideallly at least until Apple have released the first 11.x patch to fix whatever signirficant bugs are found in it upon its release (inevitably some will be found when it's released).

Also many devices are not compatible (for the moment with OS 11) and in some cases, OS 11 may even damage the hardware (Native instrument).

Should you still decide to upgrade make sure that all your Hauptwerk' hardware components are compatible with this latest OS before upgrading.
Best regards
François
