Stereo-Mono Signal

PostThu Oct 23, 2014 11:20 am

Hi Fellow Hauptwerkers
If a person would put one mono signal from hauptwerk into a mono block amp that has two speakers out, would you get the same thing as a stereo signal?
Or is a stereo signal from hauptwerk sampled different than 2 mono signals?
In other words ,would the 2 monos give you the same sound as one stereo?

In a word, no. But there are ways making a Monophonic recording more closely sound like a Stereophonic recording.

Just for fun,
Hauptwerk can be set up to send all C-D-E-F#-G#-A# to one Speaker, and C#-D#-F-G-A-B-to the other speaker,
sort of emulating the most most used Pipe-Chest arrangement,
known as a "Whole-Tone_Windchest" !
(The Pipes on the chest's, are in a huge "U" pattern)
Hauptwerk also has 3 other pipe sample splitting Config's.
Adding quality Reverb, to dry sample sets with the output going to stereo speakers, along with the above
will sort of knock you off the bench !

"Enjoy Hauptwerk, I certainly do !" :D
