Awesome music room¡¡¡
Did you place those panels by trial-error, or a-priori ?

I placed the bass traps primarily by where they best fit in the various ceiling/wall or wall/wall intersections. The mid/higher frequency traps were placed at known early reflection points. The treatments really have helped the room acoustics tremendously.

Very interesting, looks well done

Could I ask the approx cost of such an installation, (referring to the traps)?

Thanks, and probably somewhere near that amount for a commercial/professional contractor to provide installation. if you didn't have the ability to do that excellent job yourself. It takes more than just hanging a few pieces of material in a room to get the best results.

While in college, I helped a pro do a sound studio treatment. I first thought at most a couple of days would do it. Turned out after all the continual sound measurements and trial and error, the job lasted almost 2 weeks. Mainly because many times during the installation, he had to measure the results and often found interactions. Granted the room was a bit larger, but it certainly was more involved than I had initially imagined.

I will add that for people looking to experiment with this type of treatment, you can try experimenting with much cheaper panels that can be found on amazon. You can get kits and buy corner traps and all of that fairly affordably. Won't be quite professional, but could still help a lot and come in much cheaper than 3k.
