Effect of deleting an audio group

PostTue Sep 01, 2015 2:53 pm

I'm planning to replace some aging speakers with a smaller number of new ones, and this requires deleting one of my Hauptwerk audio groups and changing the number of stereo pairs in another. I know that the latter will at least force each organ to recache, but I don't know what to expect when I delete an audio group.

If anyone has done this, when an organ loads for the first time after the change, do the ranks formerly routed to the now deleted audio group revert to the default group, get set to not load, or what?

Thanks!

(Topic moved here.)

Yes -- any ranks that pointed to a delete audio output group will be defaulted back to the default group. Hence you just need to use 'Organ | Load organ, adjusting rank audio/memory options/routing' to re-assign the affected ranks to the groups you now want them to use.
