Multi-channel audio

PostTue Feb 28, 2017 4:32 pm

Multi-Channel Audio pre-Hauptwerk Instruments.

I recently stumbled upon this page about Shaw Organs.

A google search turned up a few videos of the organ in recital and I was astonished at the sound. Mr Shaw employed up to 200 audio channels and a scheme similar to the Paramount Organ Works one back in the 1970's.

A better quality recording with a Shaw brochure to read as you listen:—

I wonder what his instruments would sound like today if he had remained in business?
