Elan 16 channel amp@60 watts/channel@4 ohms

Has anyone any experience with Elan amps? This is for sale locally and it looks like a beast!.

Haven't seen any tech specs. Generally, these amps are used in home music distribution systems under less demanding than higher end organ "requirements". Have seen good used for around $1K.

Some of the specs ....a massive 1200 Watt Toroidal Transformer, four huge 50,000uF power capacitors, and eight Tripath TA2022 class-T stereo amp chips.

How about freq response? Distortion? Dampening factor? Important specs for organs.

For a variety of reasons, this would likely not be adequate for a Hauptwerk system installed in a larger space such as a church, but for home use it would probably be ok. Just keep in mind that, generally speaking, amplification systems designed for home reproduction of prerecorded music don't share the wider range of performance parameters needed for live sound reinforcement, which is essentially what we're doing with Hauptwerk.

At 60W per channel just be sure to use reasonably efficient speakers in a home environment and don't try for audio levels that aren't realistic for a 60W amp. Keep the amp near the audio interface and on the same electrical circuit. That's a requirement to use the unbalanced inputs without getting excessive hum.

Otherwise the amp is perfectly suited for Hauptwerk. The other specs are typical for a modern amp and will be similar whether the amp is marketed for home or commercial use.
