Reverb Deal

I stumbled across Waves IR-L https://www.waves.com/plugins/ir-l-convolution-reverb https://www.waves.com/plugins/ir-l-convolution-reverb at the end of last year looking looking for a simpler convolution reverb. IR-L (the light version) has only two controls, reverb time shortening and wet/dry mix. At $35 it was worth trying so the demo was downloaded. The demo was ok but the half dozen rooms provided in the demo weren't quite right for me. Then an email arrived placing it on sale for half price. I bought it for $17. The purchase allows the download and use of their 5Gb impulse set which consists of over a hundred rooms, halls and venues. Going through the various real spaces has been an ear opener:) For most, a 40% wet/dry mix is a good starting point. The studios need a higher ratio. Each one changes the overall sound, balance, tone and eq. I have found that for the rooms that I initially like, I need a day or two to acclimate to the new sensation. Anyway it sure is fun and amazing.

The plugin is available for both Mac and PC, the later requires a VST host. If you're interested, download the demo via their proprietary plugin manager. Wait for it to go on sale.
