Deutsche Multikanal-Doku HW VIII / German Multichannel doc

Hello Martin,
I have written a German manual for the multichannel setup in Hauptwerk (is in the review state).
With screenshots the manual would be even easier to understand (if they can see where to click). Is it possible to use screenshots from Hauptwerk screens?

Thanks very much for your efforts in writing it, and for checking.

Yes -- I can't see that there would be any problem in using screenshots, and other third-party websites and tutorials certainly do. Please just include a note somewhere in it saying that Hauptwerk is copyright by Milan Digital Audio.

I wish all Hauptwerk users and the Hauptwerk development and sales teams a happy and blessed new year!

The year 2024 can be interesting for German-speaking users who have not yet dared to tackle the topic of multichannel.

I have written a German multi-channel documentation for HW VIII, in which I go into detail on the subject of multi-channel on almost 70 pages and also highlight innovations such as the organ/voicing presets for the use of multiple impulse responses within a mixer preset.

This is not a translation of the original manual, but a documentation based on my own experience ("from the user for the user").

This is also a very interesting topic for stereo users! Have a look!

It's a great thing to be able to use Hauptwerk's multi-channel capabilities. I have used it to add an IR channel to some of my sets and achieved wonderful results.

I can promise you one thing: Hauptwerk is twice as much fun when you have acquired this knowledge in a few days.

Ich habe eine deutsche Multikanal-Dokumentation für HW VIII geschrieben, in der ich auf fast 70 Seiten intensiv auf das Thema Multikanal eingehe und beleuchte auch Neuerungen wie die Organ/Voicing Presets für die Nutzung mehrerer Impulsantworten innerhalb eines Mixer Presets.

Es handelt sich nicht um eine Übersetzung aus dem Original-Handbuch, sondern ist eine Dokumentation, die auf meinen eigenen Erfahrungen basiert ("vom Anwender für Anwender").

Auch für Stereo-Anwender ist das ein hochinteressantes Thema! Schaut mal rein!

Es ist eine schöne Sache, die Multikanal-Fähigkeiten von Hauptwerk nutzen zu können. Damit habe ich bei einigen meiner Sets einen IR-Kanal hinzugefügt und wunderbare Ergebnisse erzielen können.

Eins kann ich euch versprechen: Hauptwerk macht doppelt so viel Freude, wenn man sich in ein paar Tagen dieses Wissen angeeignet hat.

I have just looked for something about the IR parameter RT60 in the original manual and found NOTHING.

Be that as it may - we don't want to die stupidly, so I have included a note in V1.18 on the room acoustic parameter RT60 - a reference to a German explanation: https://svantek.com/de/akademie/rt60-nachhallzeit/

However, the IR parameters from and in work very well. This is a really great way to configure your acoustics.


In V1.19 I have reworded a few sentences and added a new chapter on stereo and multi-channel recordings.

The settings' on-screen help covers those. (The user guide doesn't always duplicate settings' on-screen help, unless it has something additional to add.)

I still hadn't fully realized Hauptwerk's potential. This is a reason for me to publish an update of the german multi channel manual (V1.21). Among other things, other improvements have also been incorporated into the document update.
