New Echo AudioFire drivers posted

PostThu Jun 04, 2009 7:15 pm

Just a heads up to anyone using any of the Echo AudioFire line, Echo has just released driver version 5.2.1 for Windows/Vista. Drivers are at http://www.echoaudio.com/Downloads/Drivers.php

I'll be trying it out at church tomorrow. No mention of a fix for the very high latency of the midi interface on 64 bit operating systems, so I doubt that it is fixed. Doesn't matter to me, as I gave up on it and use a separate midi interface. This statement in the release notes looks interesting:

"Features an overhauled and optimized FireWire audio streaming engine, with particular attention paid to optimization for multiprocessor computers."

I'll post if I notice any differences with this new driver.
