External Speakers for Rodgers C440?

What would my learned friends suggest for external speakers for my Rodgers C440? I understand also that amplification is necessary. There are audio output jacks (1/4') in the back. Thank you.

How many channels of output do you have? assume 2 jacks=2channels
How much do you want to spend? M-audio or Behringer speakers with amps included are good coices for a home.
How much weight can you carry comfortably? This determines the size and weight of the speakers for you.

So 2 M-audio BX8a speakers and a subwoofer should do nicely. Around $1000.00 more or less.
