Orbitsound T12 Soundbar

PostMon Jan 30, 2012 12:24 pm

Just read an article about this http://www.orbitsound.com/product.asp?id=3 in The Times today.
How suitable would it be for use with HW (with the proviso that the subwoofer part of it only goes down to 40Hz)?
Presumably one could use two or more for multi-channel output.
Ideas/comments?

I wonder about the product when the ad writers go on describing the product to be incredible, revolutionary, audiophile-quality sound, etc. Makes me want to rush right out. :o

They may be using a technique known as crosstalk cancellation to increase the apparent image width from the close speakers. It can be quite effective if well done, but that doesn't mean that a small unit like that can overcome the limitations of its size.
