Locked vs unlocked drivers

PostSun Aug 26, 2012 12:13 pm

Hi....
What's the difference between the locked/unlocked drivers version when running the Hauptwerk? I (accidentally loaded both versions of St Annes and Jorgensen)..I am choosing the locked version because swapping requires long waits in loading.... .I am using Windows-7, Home premium, 64-bit......
Thanks for your time and talent...(I love my Hauptwerks)...
Regards, Joe R.

If you are referring to the St. Anne's Locked for 48kHz drivers organ file, you shouldn't need to use that at all unless you are using an older SoundBlaster sound card that only supports 48kHz output. The default St. Anne's is 44.1kHz which is the native sample rate of the instrument and you should use that instead if your audio interface supports 44.1kHz output.

If you change to the original version you will only need to wait a bit longer the first time it loads, then subsequent loads will be faster.
