Can't find OrganID000010.cache_Hauptwerk_hpp (code 4903)

Hello everyone. When I used the software I met a problem. After I installed Hauptwerk, it worked normally. One day it inform that 'The sample set data cache c:/Haupterk/.... /OrganID000010.cache_Hauptwerk_hpp could not be opened. Please re-load the organ so that the cache is regenerated. message code (for diagnostic purposes): 4903', I did it (reload the organ), it worked ok, but when I restarted software, it gave another information 'The format of sample file c:/Haupterk/.... /OrganID000010.cache_Hauptwerk_hpp is invalid or unsupported. message code (for diagnostic purposes): 4916'. I have to manually load organ erverytime when I use Hauptwerk now. I don't know why. I can find the file 'c:/Haupterk/.... /OrganID000010.cache_Hauptwerk_hpp' in the folder. Would anyone please give me some suggestion?

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Are you definitely using the current version of Hauptwerk (v4.1.1)? You can check using 'Help | About Hauptwerk. From the error messages you're getting, I think you might be using an earlier version.

Please do try just updating to the current version (v4.1.1) first, since v4.0 is obsolete and there should be no reason not to upgrade -- v4.1.1 will actually work much better in Free Edition mode than v4.0 did (especially due to v4.1+'s improved polyphony management). It's a free update and can be downloaded on our main downloads page here:

When I update to the latest version, can hauptwerk setting and personal date of old one be used in the new one?

Yes, those settings do not change when you apply an update..They will remain. You don't need the full version, just the update. I just did an update for a friend's instrument a short time ago.

Yes.

(Just to clarify Ed's post -- no settings, combinations, or other data will be lost when upgrading, irrespective of whether you use the 'update' or 'full' installers. They both do upgrades in the same way, but the 'full' installer also has the ability to do clean installations.)
