Creating custom couplers?

PostFri May 22, 2015 7:54 pm

Hello,

The pipe organ I play on has a coupler named "Sopra". It couples the currently played note to the same note one octave higher, on the same rank and manual.

The HW organ I use does not have this coupler. Is it possible to create it somehow?

P.S. I understand that even if it was possible, the rank would not actually go that high, so the highest octave would not produce the additional notes.

Jose.

Hi Jose,

Yes, HW has a pretty comprehensive set of master couplers.

The easiest way to find these is to click on:

'View' -> 'Mini Control Panels (for this organ)' ->'Master Couplers: Division I'

This will show a row of master coupler buttons towards the top of the screen. Click on ( I 4' ) to activate the octave coupler, and/or ( I 16' ) for the sub-octave.

To set this up on other keyboards, use Division II or Division III as needed.

You can also right click on a button to assign it to a MIDI message if you want.

This is covered in pages 108 and 109 of the current user manual.

sopra, usually means above. What MIDI relay are you using? I use Artisan Micro MIDI and I wrote my own.
